The Larry DeLawder Family Weekend: July 2025

On the weekend of July 19 and 20, 2025, the Larry DeLawder Family Ministries came to Little Falls Chapel for two services of singing, laughter and worship. Pastor Linda Reese opened in prayer on the Saturday evening and then handed the room over to the family.

A family, introduced

Larry began by sorting out a misunderstanding that follows them around the country. People see the group and assume it is an old man and his two daughters. It is not. He introduced Sarah as his wife, with some feeling, and noted that she rather enjoys the confusion even if he has had enough of it.

Their youngest daughter, Faith, sings with them and had turned nineteen that March. Larry was unabashedly proud of her and said he has no idea what he will do when she eventually leaves, before deciding out loud that he would simply go with her. Their elder daughter married in 2022, and the family had been busy that week with two grandchildren’ birthdays falling together.

The songs

The evening leaned on old favourites the congregation already knew, including “Since Jesus Came into My Heart” and “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” Little Falls Chapel is a small church that sings from the hymn books most Sundays, so an evening like this fits the room.

Why we host weekends like this

We are a small, non-denominational chapel in Falling Waters, and some Sundays feature guests rather than a sermon from our own pulpit. Visiting ministries bring something different, and an evening of music is one of the easier services to bring a friend to. There is no admission and no pressure.

Sunday worship is at 10:00 AM, doors open at 9:30, and you can plan a visit beforehand if you would like someone to meet you. Street parking is on Foster Dr. Come as you are.
